Reserves: Chelsea 2 Ipswich Town 2
Romelu Lukaku and Philipp Prosenik were on target for the Reserves, who played Ipswich Town this afternoon. Josh McEachran played the full game, his first since coming off against Liverpool in the Carling Cup. Ipswich took the lead within two minutes before the Blues took control. Chances fell Lukaku's way and on 20 minutes the Belgian got his reward. McEachran played a wonderful ball into the path of Lukaku who controlled it and slotted home. The visitors had a few long-range attempts before Chelsea took the lead four minutes before the interval: Prosenik's half-volley was crisp and precise. Ipswich levelled the scores shortly after the restart. The best chances for the Blues to find a winner came late on, substitutes Kaby and Reece Loudon having shots saved.
