Redknapp refuses to rule out signing Anelka
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has refused to rule out an approach for Nicolas Anelka after praising the Chelsea striker. Anelka has found his chances limited at Stamford Bridge this season with the emergence of Daniel Sturridge and Juan Mata making it difficult to secure a place in the side. Tottenham are light on strikers with Roman Pavlyuchenko, meaning Jermain Defoe is now in back in the starting eleven. But with Anelka a possible casualty during the January transfer window, Redknapp is refusing to rule out signing the striker who burst on to the scene as a teenager with north London rivals Arsenal. "I think he’s a fantastic goalscorer," said Redknapp. "I wouldn’t stand here and say, 'No, never' because if I signed him, you’d say I was lying."
