Hutchinson signs deal... 12 months after retiring!
Sam Hutchinson has has signed an 18-month contract at Chelsea - a year after quitting the game. An injury to his right knee appeared to end Hutchinson’s career last August. But the Chelsea central defender, 22, has earned another shot at the big time after games for the reserves. He said: "It is great news I have signed a contract. It is great to be back and I am looking forward to the future. I take it week by week and it is a slow process. I am still not out of rehabilitation but I am playing 90-minute games and feeling really fit." He added, "I want to thank academy manager Neil Bath, he has been brilliant with me and I don't think I would be here without him. And my family and reserve manager Dermot Drummy have been great as well, as have Chelsea as a whole." Hutchinson appeared four times for Chelsea's first team before his retirement.
