Drogba faces two weeks’ recovery time
Didier Drogba will not be fit in time to face Manchester United this weekend, with Andre Villas-Boas confirming the damage to the striker was worse than first thought. Drogba was knocked unconscious when he fell awkwardly after a clash with the Norwich keeper just over a fortnight ago. He was initially thought to be a possibility for the United clash, but Villas-Boas confirmed today that this is now highly unlikely. "Didier did some damage to his teeth when he fell to the ground,” Villas-Boas said. “So we have given him two games off. Everything is okay with the scan. He will be fit again somewhere between the United, Fulham and Swansea game." Drogba has always been a difficult man for United to stop and the news will no doubt be a blow to Villas-Boas, despite other strikers being available.
