Anelka could be lured back to PSG
As the team enters it's first full week of training, before a friendly against Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Saturday, the Chelsea transfer bandwagon rolls on... Much will be said about Modric in the coming days I'm sure, but today it's all about movement 'out' of the Bridge rather than 'in'. Reports from France strongly link Anelka with a £9million move back to Paris Saint-Germain, where a £90k weekly salary would be no problem for the Qatari owners. New boss Andre Villas-Boas is keen to reduce the average age of squad before bringing in new recruits and he may be prepared to sell a number of players. Anelka, 32, was signed from Bolton in 2008 having previously spent time at Arsenal, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City. The former France international has scored 58 times in 167 games for Chelsea but could be considered past his best. Chelsea team-mate Alex is also subject to a proposed move away from West London in the form of a £12m transfer to Bayern Munich. This had been suggested some time ago and, if completed, might pave the way for Porto defender Rolando to hook up with his former boss at Stamford Bridge.
